STOP THE SPAM
Sorry guys, but I've had to disable comments on me blog too.
I hardly update it anyway, so there's nowt to really comment on, but every day there's 5-10 spam comments to mess about deleting.

So until I can get the cutenews Catchpa mod working, this will have to do cry

Engage !!
Well, I know this'll shock some of ya, though others won't be at all surprised...
I got engaged last night !!

Yup, Cheryl & I are now officially mad *woohoo*
We found the perfect ring about 4 months ago, but decided it was maybe too early. Cheryl's Engagement Ring

So this week (after a bit of grief with Goldsmiths, Bluewater) I bought the little beauty and proposed last night under the ancient tree by Rochester Cathedral, where we first met grin

Needless to say I'm beaming from ear to ear at the moment!

Peace & Loveism y'all . . .

Mint Sauce me PC !!
Mint Sauce Online
I'm guessing few/none of you will know who/what Mint Sauce is, apart from the stuff you might put on sunday dinner at least.

Mint Sauce is the original mountain biking sheep, obvious really !!
He's the star of a long running cartoon strip in
Mountain Biking UK magazine (MBUK) and he's rather funny imho.

The strip's also deep, mental, loved up, obtuse, random &/or "other"
- depending on the author/artist's feelings or point of view I guess.

Anyhoo, somebody's seen fit to put a lot of the cartoons online, so go check 'em out:

Life's a good'un
I'm beaming to report that Cheryl & I are serious about getting married & having kids together, would love to do both next year!
I'm absolutely head-over-heels in love with this girl, she's simply perfect for me. My family & closest friends love her to bits too, which further proves how wonderful she is. I really can't believe the turn-around in my fortunes lately, and it's all down to meeting the right girl at last smiley

We're off to France for 10 days in July, just after both our birthdays, gonna cycle in/around the Loire Valley as it looks & sounds beautiful. Should be collecting our bikes in 2-3 weeks & I can't wait! Cheryl's picked a sweet little Scott Contessa 30 from same shop as mine, I just hope she loves biking even half as much as I do.

Read on my dears, read on . . . tongue

I think I've met my girl!
After many years of lookin but not much else, I just suddenly met the girl I wanna spend all my time with!! Actually Cheryl found me, so I've got her (& Yahoo Personals) to thank.
Anyhoo, Cheryl (with a CH not a sh) is a lovely little lass from Scotland, with a rather soft & sexy accent (I've always been a sucker for accents!).
Since our first date on march 4th we've spent more evenings together than apart and it feels so damn right! She's got fabulous eyes, cute as a button, a lovely kisser, really affectionate, has my kinda humour, is very intelligent, a great cook & lovely to be around. We're like a couple of 'loved up' teens when together! (I know; pass the bucket. lol)

I so totally hope this works out & lasts & lasts!
We've only known each other for 9 days, yet we're already planning things in 2 months & beyond, which seems perfectly natural, if a tad spooky!

So you're reading a happier Jay Dubster than I've known in years, one who's suddenly looking forward & considering his future with a very significant other grin

Love, Peace & Unity.

10 hours til take off
We're all pretty much fit & sorted, plane leaves in under 10 hours (8am Feb 4th) and I'm gettin a bit excitable! cool
There's been some bad luck snow wise, something called the "Fohn" happened at the Three Valleys resort earlier in the week, which kinda melted a lotta snow *doh*
Basically it's a heavy duty wind that hits the wrong side of the mountain, slows & loses all it's moisture on the way up, then races down t'other side, picking up speed & heat. Then the bastid flies up thru the resort melting as much snow as possible before disappearing over the top again unsure (Read More !!)

Snowboard 2006
Ahh we've finally sorted our snowboard session for Feb 2006.
We're off to Meribel Motarret, part of the French Alps "Three Valleys" resort,
one of the highest rated areas on earth grin

Three Valleys Area(click image for full-size map)
Here's the resort's ski run map, as you can see there's a lot to cover in a week cool

To make it even better, my lovely friends Lisa, Suzz & Jacqui all clubbed together & brought me some awesome snowboard boots for Xmas, so I won't need the crappy hire boots any more tongue

Mankinds Adventures Into Space?
Ok, a friend & I have been chatting about the future missions to Mars and hit upon a good few questions:

1) Afaik it'll take about 6 months for a probe to get from earth launch to mars orbit. So why on earth is it gonna take about 3 years for humans to make the same journey?

2) Re Moon/Mars Bases:
We just read that the world record for "living under water" has recently been broken by 2 italians by spending just 5 days in the sea. Considering we've apparently spent longer in space almost 40 years ago, why 'on earth' haven't we built under-sea bases or at least had a few people living happily underwater for more than 5 days already?
Surely this would be a great steping stone to surviving in the hostile environment that is space? It's gotta be a LOAD cheaper & more practical solution to build a base under water and try & get us humans surviving in that 'alien environment' before venturing out of our atmosphere, wouldn't it ??
